My name is Pier Paolo Gerardi, I am the owner and teacher of the “Accademia delle arti orafe”, the most important goldsmith school in Italy.
Founder of the “Gerardi Stone Setting School” the No.1 setting school in Italy.
But first and foremost I am a researcher and an innovator.
In fact, you must know that my entire life has been dedicated to researching the best setting techniques.
A path that was anything but easy, considering that at the time, it was very difficult, if not impossible,
to find masters in Italy willing to share their secrets .
Despite the fact that my first master (one of the best gem-setters in Rome) taught at my Academy, founded by my father, I soon realised that this knowledge was not enough if I really wanted to create something innovative.
I therefore decided to embark on a long journey, choosing to dedicate my entire life to the constant search for perfection.
I studied, experimented and searched everywhere for techniques and tools that I could combine in my broader vision.
Because on every journey, wherever I went, I realised that only through constant research and innovation could something truly unique be created.
My goal was to create a completely practical method of study that would enable my students to become the best stone-setters.
So after years of research, I managed to revolutionise my teaching concept and create, my own method, what I call the ‘Trinocular Method’.
The Trinocular Method, named after the microscopes with which it is taught, is the result of years of experimentation and encapsulates my essence and vision of jewellery.
But now I don’t want to tell you any more about me, because I think that it is the results of my students that should do the talking.
Over the past 10 years I have trained hundreds of professional gem-setters :
